Individual Therapy
Why Clients Seek Therapy:
Clients seek therapy with me for many reasons including (in client's own language):
-
Addressing things that have needed attention for a long time.
-
Realizing something can’t keep going the way it has, even if the new way isn’t clear yet.
-
Feeling stuck between who they’ve been and who they’re becoming.
-
Navigating burnout, grief, loneliness, or change that’s shaken their sense of self.
-
Carrying past experiences that keep echoing into the present.
-
Craving a different way of being... one rooted in authenticity, values, and agency rather than autopilot.
-
A desire to better understand themselves and improve their relationships.
-
Getting to the "root causes" of concerns or patterns to change more than just symptoms.
What can we focus on in individual therapy?

Relationships (boundaries, conflict and repair, navigating complex dynamics in families, partnerships, or friendships)
-
Personal growth and self-discovery
-
Spirituality (exploration, navigating spiritual transitions, engaging with diverse spiritual practices and traditions)

What Clients Report
As a result of therapy together, clients have shared they've benefited in the following ways:
-
Because of processing trauma, it made room for other things in life.
-
Greater self-awareness, insight, and emotional understanding.
-
Change in how frustration and other emotions are expressed, and being able to keep from "spiraling."
-
Symptoms may still be experienced, but it doesn't interfere with life anymore.
-
Making changes that help feel more seen, heard, and respected in relationships.
-
A nuanced understanding of emotions and their origins, as well as ability to express emotions more effectively.
-
Reduced anger, guilt, and shame tied to past experiences.
-
Clarity on identity and purpose.
-
Improved ability to prioritize self-care and well-being.
-
Confidence in setting and maintaining boundaries.
-
Improved ability to reframe and trust in intuition.
-
Feeling a lot clearer, and more present, active, honest, and engaged.
“I am so lucky to have found you... I am undeniably a different person today because of all the time we spent together. I have started having hard conversations with people, because I learned that I actually do prefer feeling seen, heard, and respected in my relationships. I learned that trauma does not have to be the first thing I present to the world, and just because something is still oozing and gross doesn’t mean it’s not healing."
"I have a better handle on where things and emotions are coming from and how to express them better, rather than them feeling like a pool of confusion."
"You have been trauma informed, have a critical lens, have been healing and helpful... it has been positive, I've gained insights and reframing, because I’m going through constant change. I have less doubt, and trust my intuition more."
